Born in Upstate New York and a Californian for the last 42 years, Chris has written for dozens of outlets around the world. He served as Editor in Chief of the award-winning Earth Island Journal, and as Environment Editor for KCET-TV, which was then Los Angeles’ only independent public television station. His articles and writings often explore the intersection of conservation, indigenous rights, and the impact of human activities on desert landscapes.
